I'm tight on money now too so I guess I'll be running the 16s on the street for awhile :/ .... as for the longtubes and o/r y itll make the top end pull harder but if u really want the best mod for the money (I'm assuming u got 3.42 stock gears) get some 3.73 or 4.10 like me it kills gas mileage but I had 3.08 gears stock and put 4.10s and cut off 5 tenths of a second at the track it was the biggest change of any mod I've done so far
I actually decided to get some American racing Torq thrust St wheels and then some long tubes and ory and tune and then a small cam and then deal with the rear end and then maybe some FI, HOPEFULLY

Where are u located? I'm in Houston so there's literally LS tuning shops almost on every corner haha . And yeah I can't decide what to do next, I really really want a drop kit because my truck is already running pretty good, but I also really want a cam lol. I also have an 89 Silverado single cab stepside as a project and I dropped it 4/6 from djm suspension flip kit and control arms and Springs in the front I'll try to ge t some pics of the cragars and my other truck up

I really want a 220 cam but I don't have the extra money and tools to do a stall swap so everyone says you can run a 212/218 low lift without swapping stalls. Plus it's a nice cam if you ever decide to go boosted

Yeah I was looking at the tsp 220r and 224r, they got really good pulling range. I knew a guy who had a 06 crew cab with a 216/220 cam and he ran 13s in the 1/4 and he used a trailblazer stall in his (check those out, cheap way to get a good stall for the street u don't want too much stall without real good tires or it won't hook up) but he swapped that motor into an 02 single cab and ran no stall and the 216 220 ran good on the street. I got a buddy with an 02 single cab with a 4.8 with a 228r cam and 3200 stall but my 5.3 is still faster with just bolt ons stock cam and stall so I think he went too much on the cam and lost his bottom end

I've never done a cam swap and just got my 4l60 rebuilt with a overhaul kit so is it something I can do in the driveway or should I play it safe
