i dont think he was being a dick. i think he is questioning why put this drivetrain in a big *** 3/4 ton truck and why not a more performance oriented lighter weight single cab truck or something along that line. this is definetley a unique build and one that i would love to follow and see complete!!

I think his comment was more towards the suspension/frame swap.

I think the drivetrain is in its perfect home.

Please keep updating the thread. I'm am very anxious to see this through as well. Are you building for a specific purpose or just for fun?

Then your Buddy would know Todd Hoerner hes the guy I did all the talking dealing with. Hoping to get to Summernats this year, haven't been for 3 years but its always a good time to meet up with old mates from around the country. Wont be going in the Burnouts though ... you need to build specific for that event....

I understand but there are a few differences with me I guess. One is Im a GM Truck Nut so it has to go into a truck, period. I have had a few RCs over the years, some fairly quick street ones 65, 71, 84, 98, 02, 03, 06, 09 amongst others and they have all been fun. I still have an 03 EC with a strong 632 in it, BUT I love dropped Duallys and dropped Crewcabs. They make smick cruisers in my eyes. I have had some tuff Street CCs and nothing like cruising out to the track doing a few runs and cruising home. Nothing like pulling up beside some guy in a Ricer in a 3 and a half ton truck and blowing his **** off. Sure I could go quicker with it in a half ton, but it will go ok and still make it interesting for most that will pull it on, be the street or track. Here is a pic of my 04 that had a 572 Steve Morris engine that went 1531 on 93 octane and 1673 on C16. Was a nice ride

I see you have the disease too, that s good and that's a tuff little truck you got there. This is just for fun, I need to be building insane things to keep me from getting bored. Will never be as quick as yours but will be fun. Will be a Saturday night and Sunday arvo toy and get out to the track to half a dozen T&Ts a year. Due to weight factor will always have a traction problem on takeoff. My 04 2500 CC with BBC I got down to 6000 lbs and I believe this one we will get to late 4000 lbs with all the suspension mods, Alloy block etc

Im sure you will be interested in the suspension too Atomic. Its one of your pet subjects Im sure. The reason Im going with the Stock 2012 LCAs and 2004 McGaughys dropped Spindles and 2004 UCAs is this. With Fast Trucks I like good brakes. I have had 3 sets now of Brembo 15" 6 spots and I love them. pulling up at high speed with them is excellent. Brembo do not and say hey will not be making anything for the 2012 model, same for Mcgaughys and the other suspension people. There is a guy in Michigan that will do Spindles for 2012 but the hassle etc for me is not worth it. The UCAs off the 04 are an easy fitup and with the 2" McGaughy Spindles I will get the front down so lowest point of chassis is app 4" off the ground and with the Airtech Airsprings I have it should ride ok and be low how I like it. You have been a great help along the way by info in your posts - thanks
