Raw stock (good for special projects that only need 1-5' of a material):
metalsupermarkets.com
metalbythefoot.com
midweststeelsupply.com
onlinemetals.com

Exhaust/intake:
mandrelbends.com
siliconeintakes.com
amazon/ebay; impressively

Fittings:
Swagelok
McMaster
Sweet Performance (makes the best aluminum weld bungs imo)

Check your white pages, you might have franchised suppliers close to you like Bralco, Marco, Reliance (there are thousands others. Metal Supermarkets is a good one)

Note that buying material at HD/Lowe's/Salmon's:etc is paying ~1000% mark up

Hm, that's where both me and my company get their materials from. Never really had an issue

LMAO! I didn't know you were replying and we made basically the same list ahaha

I buy some stuff from McM. Tubing, flare nuts and ferrules, hardware; etc. As for significant lengths of raw stock, they are good enough but their shipping prices and mark-up can get ridiculous in a hurry. But if you need a single piece of 6x6x.125" 304L precision ground and mirror finish.... where else you gonna go?

I was the sales manager for a specialty metals distributor. The market is saturated with local places to buy from. If you are in the middle of no where USA, then you may be forced to buy online. Check google and don't be afraid to call around.

No issues with McM, as others have noted, they are expensive and have very high shipping costs.

Oh dang. Glad you got some responses. Lol. Luckily for me they have a handful of metal supply yards here. All round the country things can be different. I was talking to a manufacturer out of state and they said prices change daily so, when its low they stock up a lot. Those sites are great, I have used a few myself but if you need a piece of ½" square right now... Home depot may be the place to go and oh well its double what you pay online... it was $10 and little project is done.

On a site note.
Did a little practice run with a smoke bomb and a pumpkin for some Halloween pictures. Pretty cool, I'd definitely recommend it.

just the aftermath

Hard line is 99% done, just need to swap out last fitting on airbag. Lastly (and most dreaded) the wiring.

little simple green goes a long ways!!
