(In my best Staind voice) Its been awhile.. since I've been on. Little update.
cleaned engine bay. Lol
I didn't like my frame mounts for the traction bars so I re did them out of aluminum before I powder coated everything satin back.
Need to see installed pics of the traction bars with new brackets, if it looks anything like your previous work its a work of art no doubt.
Save those old brackets, I'd be plenty happy with them myself! I think the old ones were great personally so I really want to see the new ones on the truck lol
Been keeping you in mind on those. I still need some but I was flip flopping on doing a flip kit and other suspension mods. Which I just finished literally about an hour ago. And I did end up doing a flip kit.
Those brackets look really nicely done. Are you using a water jet to cut them?

Crap, I thought I hit upload but it must have deleted it...?? I will get a pic up sometime after i wash it.
All our stuff is done on the plasma table at work.
Ive tried to take a pic a couple times today of a side profile of the traction bars and they are hard to see. I didn't want to leave them the bare aluminum even though they looked nice and stood out but that's exactly what i didn't want. I wanted a more subtle look. Turns out I got what I wanted... lol
Looks great. Have you loaded the bed with a lot of weight? What do you think will happen if you put a yard of dirt in the back and she gets within 1/2 inch of the bump stops.
I've taken it all the way to the bump stops. Because I used bushings it allows flex. Even when I load a trailer or fill the bed and its squatting I dont even notice a difference.
in my experience there's a difference between daily driver and full blow _________ (drag truck, show, baja, etc...) and not saying you can't daily drive a vehicle with 800+ HP, full custom paint and $10k in wheels alone or 24" of travel but you usually have a trade off like loosing AC and interior panels, now you are extremely cautious because you have $XX.XX in money spent, no usable bed space and a roll cage. I consider a daily driver to be comfortable and not restrict what you normally do.
So, a daily driver I would use a bushing to reduce the binding and sometimes noise that can come with other bars with heim joints. In a suspension where I do not want the rear end to have any twist I would use heim joints but know it will affect my ride.
Also, the length of bars and angle do make a difference... lol. Hopefully that's understandable and I didn't go too far off on a tangent.
