you could use the crank and rods from the 4.8 but the 5.7 pistons are bigger bore

I know. 4.8 and 5.3 use the same block. The 5.3 block can be bored out to 5.7 specs.

4.8 and 5.3 use the same pistons as well...but you said use the 4.8 in pistons in a 5.7 bore...wouldn't work. I'm sure you started another thread about this, people would be more than helpful to you

Sorry don't mean to be jacking your thread. I wasn't the one that originally posted this question on pg 17 I was just answering it. I made a typo I meant 4.8 crank and rods with LS1 pistons.


back on topic now.

your truck looks great. I'm envious.

Yes you can take a 5.7 piston and put on a 4.8 piston with 4.8 crank.

Finally got these bars out of the box. The quality on these Smith Racecraft assassin bars is AMAZING!!!
