Lq4/80e swap question
#1
ok i stared about 1yr ago when i pulled the LQ4 w/4L80e, out of a 2006 3500passenger van with only 16,1xx miles on it and everything possible, complete harness, ECM, cooling lines, driveshaft...but duty calls and i had to go across the pond one more time
, i'm back know and tired of watching the the motor collect dust. So Im start this weekend but have a couple of questions, i've read threads on here and pretty much have an understanding of what i need, my question is about the driveshaft will i have to shorten it, i have the vans DS do i just remove the ends and put it on my original DS and rear end? and that about the 1350 yoke i keep reading about it whats it for? Do i need it? and how much do i have to cut the crossmember? thank you for any advice. its all gonna go in 03RCSB 2wd

im in the same process working on a 2wd rcsb im not sure what yoke works without cutting the Stock 60e driveshaft.
so far i have come with these part numbers to yokes that fit the 80e
TH400 slip yoke part # AAM 40032054
Neapco N3R-3-9161X yoke
I Wish i knew which one fits with out shortening the DS or having a bastard u joint.

The stock drive shaft is a 3Re u joint. I used the Neapco joint that Blazinblue shows above.
I have an ecsb and my stock driveshaft with the new joint and yoke fit just fine. But i dont know if it will work on any others.
If you use a 1350 joint you would have to get the new yokes welded on the drive shaft.
Oh and you should have to cut the crossmember and move it back roughly six inches.

ok well I went ahead and did the swap this weekend, everything went easy until I got to the electrical part harness I got was from 06VAN3500, the problem is the connector doesn't match my fuse box, can I reroute the wiring to make it work? Or would it be easier to go with the 60e/80e conversion.

I have a similar question about the u joints and yokes. I am putting a 6.0/4l80 from an 01 2500HD standard cab long bed in our 01 1500 extended cab short bed that started life as a 4.3 v6. I need to either find a smaller yoke that fits the 4l80e and the extended cab drive shaft, or a u-joint to put the 80e yoke i have on the ext cab drive shaft. Anyone know what will work?
