I would like to find one of those 4 corner LS1 coolant setups if I can, assuming it will work around the taller intake. Why GM got rid of them in the first place is beyond me.

Oh, I do too. I plan on leaving the quick spool on since the turbo is just a different rotating assembly in the same frame. I can run from a roll now up to about 35mph and have full boost in about a second, but anything over that requires brake boosting. I would be very happy if I never had to brake boost again.

Any suggestions for internal upgrades for the 6.0 while its still out of the truck? Obviously the cam is getting swapped out, but things like rod bolts, etc. If I'm gonna place an order with summit and get everything by Friday, today is the day!

let me know when you plan to do the swap. If I'm off work may be able to lend a hand.

It's a bit dirty My buddy was saying I should paint the block dark blue to match the truck, and I kinda like the idea. I keep hearing mixed opinions on the rod bolts. Apparently the rods bend before the bolts have any issue lol. I may just do it anyway.

Gonna try to get the cam in on Friday and get the turbo prepped for the quick spool. Probably start pulling the 5.3 Saturday and try to get the 6.0 in by Sunday evening. Sorry I couldn't help with your intake sooner! Didn't expect for the truck to break so soon.

Haven't been updating much, but here's the progress.

Friend convinced me to colormatch the engine, so there it is. Valve covers are painted too. I think it came out pretty nice Cam is installed, currently waiting for the crank pulley to dry so I can put it on and begin dropping in the 6.0.

That's not exactly true, the rods fail from rpm too. I haven't seen a motor fail from rod bolts in a long time, its always the actual rod. The guys who keep lower rpm and push more seem to last longer. In any case 800 to the ground seems to be the limit for stock goods.
