Alright just checking, went thru some similar trans problems recently resulting from not being able to run that cover.

Dont want to clutter up his thread so ill post more in mine, but to sum it up the dust shield on 80es are actual structural support to the case, without it case flexes and takes out the pump then clutches.

yep, sure can. People like to not run them though. I always run mine.

I always run mine also. I striped out the threads in the oil pan at one point ears ago so its helicoiled with 1/2" bolts now.

I figured you guys would enjoy this one, a dead idle stomp to WOT before I broke the trans, or this might have been what broke the trans actually. I turned down the controller a little bit so the turbos came in slightly slower than normal since it wasnt a prepped surface. The time scale is 10 seconds.

The gist is went from vacuum to 2psi before my foot made it all the way to the floor, then 8psi a half second later, and a half second after that was at 17psi or so. This was with a 10psi pulley and turbos set to 6-7psi. Lean tip in is also fixed. Spools twin s475s pretty fast!
