Just for fun, heres a clip of one of the last runs I did with the turbo. Looks like the converter stalls to about 4000 with that power level.

I havent messed with more timing, but you are right, if 17 was the limit at 23psi then I could probably run more at 12psi

I would say add more time down low until about 4k. Then 17-18 the rest of the way.

So I wonder how hard it would be to tune if I used methanol for the fuel for the nitrous bars instead of pump gas.... I could flow the pump and test the output, and Im sure it would flow enough. Would probably be 150psi from the meth pump or so if I had to guess.

Curious how your IATS do in a 1/4

Now that mine are straightened out I see a 22 deg climb in the first 1/8m and then only 2deg after that even if I do a 1/2m pull.

Add some timing.

Do you still have a hole in your fender. Lol

Glad to see it running well and all the way down the track Atomic!

Are you going to use the alky pump or a separate pump? The problem is the alky meth system delivers very inconsistent pressure. You go WOT and it takes a second... so you will be spraying a hell of a lot more nitrous than fuel to cover it at low RPM when both the meth and nitrous are first engaged. If you had a stand alone fuel system designed for meth I would say have at it, but from what I have found no one really makes one that can withstand meth for long periods of time.

Man I can't believe how much timing you got away with on that turbo set up! WOW! I would guess a few degrees here and there will make a very big difference.

I know you don't want to pour more money into the 2.3, but more pulley with cooling upgrades like a higher capacity pump and another small HX, and the timing adjustments mentioned above would transform this truck from what it is today...

Yep, hole is still here, gets a lot of funny looks

Thanks Mark! I still owe you a favor from all the parts you've given me

I actually haven't driven it since I got home from the track, but I plan to add some timing down low.

My thinking for the meth pump would be to have the pump turn on before the fuel solenoid would open, that way it is already primed. I can adjust the on point and ramp rate to be basically 100% on at a given pressure. If I put the whole thing on a switch then I could basically turn it on. It would be taking away a lot of features of the kit, but for this purpose it would essentially be a stand alone fuel system.

Thinking back about it you could also just use the nitrous window switch and program it to come on at WOT after you know your meth has had a brief moment to prime.

There would be work arounds. To that end... the nitrous fuel jets are designed with a specific pressure in mind, no? Wouldnt the inconsistent pressure from the meth system become a bit of a tuning issue? Or is this one of those - when in doubt run it on the fat side - situations?

Im not sure why you think its so inconsistent...you can set it so the gain is very high so it doesn't ramp up with manifold pressure, and at that point is basically like any other pump that is not PWM controlled. Yes the jets are based on a certain pressure, but as long as you know the pressure you can jet accordingly. If its jetted for 50psi on gas then 150psi on meth might be close actually with the same jet.

And no, too fat on nitrous and you blow up pistons, however that's with gas, not sure if meth would behave the same way.

I mean i know its typically in the same ball park, but you wouldnt tune a truck that didnt have regulated fuel. Most nitrous fuel sources are very carefully regulated pressures whether they are a separate system or tied into your existing fuel system. That's my only reservation.
