Default Guess I'll start one of these, 6.2/ 4l80e NBS

Long story short my lq9 in my denali bent a rod. Well in my area they are gold, going well over $2000 for a long blood with higher miles. I have a good friend in Michigan in a performance shop who got me a 80k Mile 6.2. He is deleting the vvt, and putting a stage 4 BTR cam kit in it. Refreshing the heads, and new gaskets through out along with arp head bolts for $3200 shipped. I plan to throw a magnacharcher 2.3l on it eventually. Also found a 4l80e that was rebuilt, has 25k miles on it for $500.

I'll be adding to my parts list as it goes on to keep track of money and items I buy. If you have suggestions please let me know, could save me money or be easier, maybe I'm forgetting it etc. I haven't decided on a converter, but thinking a circle d or yank. I know the billet is best but I'm not sure funds will allow that yet.

Parts list and $
6.2 motor/ w/BTR stage 4 ls3/ ls7 lifters/ BTR dual vapve springs/ ARP headbolts/ new cam bearings/ gaskets throughout - $3250 shipped
Lingenfelter 58x-24x box- $254
4l80e/ front & rear driveshafts/ dipstick- $500
Circle D 278mm single disc 3200-3400 stall- $600
Trans go HD2- $119
4l60/ 4l80e swap crossmember- $225
4l80e/ NP149 awd input shaft - $465
Tru cool 40k, ANTELOPE fittings/ hose- $250 ish
Tuning- $330

If you are having this guy refresh the engine why even bother with a converter box.

Just buy a 24x reluctor wheel and swap it on the crank, that way you don't have to deal with buying another part. The reluator wheel has got to be way cheaper than a converter box.

He isn't going through bearings etc. Basically shortblock is being left alone. By the time a machine shop took the crank out swapped rings, then assembled it would likely more. Plus I don't know if I trust someone doing it and disturbing everything let alone making sure the rings are perfect for timing.

When you said bent rod I was expecting to see some kind of FI under the hood. What made it bend being NA? Or am I missing a piece of the puzzle?

Catch can got full and was over glowing into my intake. After emptying my catch can I didn't think to check intake to. Well over night it drained into the cylinder and that morning I decided to fire it up. Well it was short and sweet. After pulling intake off I dumped about a quart of oil out of it and #3 cylinder was full to the top. Now I know why it happened, I just don't know what caused the catch can to fill up in under one week of installing it. Yes it was hooked up correctly, I triple checked it. Catch can was mighty mouse.

Got most everything purchased, just need to purchase the transfer case adaptor from time2kill and will have most everything. Tear down will start Monday and will have 4 days to get a lot accomplished.

I've done several motor swaps, 4 in my s10 that had a 6.0 and another in a silverado but any tips you guys can give? Never hurts if someone has an easy way to do something.

How she's sitting now, poor girl

Sounds like a fun project,

How are you going to set up the knock sensors on the Gen 4 block?

Still debating, but more than likely will drill/tap on the side of block to use the gen 3 sensors.
