That looks a lot like the off road HUNTING biggies I have been seeing all over. They look weird but serve a purpose I guess.

Although none of those have them, I have seen some that have full cages that are very blocky looking like the one you posted.

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled insanity.

ok i will try and be serious.

without all of the reasons this is crazy. say it does work. you mean to tell me you bought a 408 short block, good heads, nice cam, tbss intake... and built a throttle body out of a piece of pipe???

why didnt you save a **** load more than $150 by getting a 5.3 and putting boltons on it. i can bet you that will be faster. and you can tune that!!!

Jim, Parish8, built a twin TB setup that worked it used stock throttle bodies to feed the TT 6L in his nova wagon build... But his fab and engineering skills are unmatched by most in the hobby period, not just this site... If you get time, look at some of his builds... Impressive stuff.

Here is my 2 cents on the matter.

If you investing the money in the motor, invest in the parts in doing it right.

If you are doing this as an experiment to teach yourself a bit more about fuel injection, while practicing some FINISHING skills, more power to you.

I try new stuff all the time. Some of it works, some of it fails. Some stuff looks great, some stuff looks horrid. I typically don't post it all over the internet for other peoples opinions though.

I have a different learning curve then most. I put my hands on it, take it apart, put it together, take it apart see if I can make it better. Experimenting along the way. If the results are good, I will tell people about it.

My first 2 big time projects trucks that I did by myself were kept under $750 out of pocket investment (lots of trading and side jobs, LOL). When I got done, they were disassembled, parts sold off, and the remainder crushed. I learned a lot, that was the complete goal behind them.

I post all of my crap, I am surprised that I don't get flamed like custm2500 has in this thread. It can only be the difference in our attitudes.
