Default can a 5.3 or 6.0 replace a 5.7 vortec?

looking for advise on a possible motor swap. got a '97 suburban with high miles(237K) and it may finally give out soon. the truck is worth keeping, as the rest of the truck is in great shape. wondering if i should replace the motor with another 5.7 or swap to a 5.3 or 6.0. asking your advise on what would be involved to do the swap. thx in advance.

Sure can, but you will need to fab some things up, change some wiring around..

you will need, motor, motor mounts, flexplate and stall and converter, harness, pcm since yours is a 97, iirc brakebooster, fuel lines, radiator, ac compressor and all that stuff, and i think thats all there might be more that i can think of off the top of my head

Why would you want to go back down in size from a 350ci 5.7L tbi to a 325ci 5.3FI ? Just curios, dont see many people going smaller with the builds....

If the 5.3 wasnt an improvement over the 350 Gm wouldn't have made the swap....more power, less weight, more efficient. Displacement is great but it isn't everything.

Go to LS1truck.com, they have a whole section just for LS into 88-98 swaps. I couldn't have done mine without all the help I got from there.
