I have a 2008 rwd single cab gmc 4.8. Currently the engine is out and awaiting the ls thumper cam kit from comp cams (duration at 050 218int/229exh, lobe separation 111)
along with schoenfield headers, and high performance gasket kit.
My objective with the truck is to get off the line faster, as it is no longer a daily!

curious if anyone has suggestions for what the truck will need and what I can leave stock after this motor goes in??
(suspension, rear axle, driveshaft, transmission,etc?)

ps: future plans to swap from my 4l60e to a 4l80e transmission after summer.
truck currently has 101,000km

The little 4.8 is a great motor, but she lacks in the torque department. If you really want to run from a dig, put a roots or TVS blower on that thing
