Camshaft For Stock 4.8
#1
Hello,
I have a 03 Chevy 2wd with a 4.8, 5-speed.
My question is I am going to get a camshaft for my truck and am wanting to know what the Max Lift without getting PTV issues, also what camshaft do you recommend for a Daily Driven 4.8? I will also be ordering Cermaic Long Tube Headers so I need a cam that will complement the extra scavaging.
I will be also using stock heads, but I am planning on upgrading valve springs when ordering which ever camshaft i need, so that wont a problem.
Thanks,
Delane

get thr xr265hr...comp # 54-412-11. this is the cam i gonna be getting for mine as well. this would be good for a dd, but if u wanted to go a little more extreme, i would consider the tr220, cant go wrong there!

I put a cam that first cam out of a 6.0 and then a 5.3 into a 4.8. It was in the 224 range using 1.8 scorpions which resulted in 575 lift. That was over two years ago and it still runs like a scalded dog. TSP did the tune on the PCM.
