Progress seems slow but its getting there. Here are some pics of the torque arm tabs welded on to the housing.

 

All the welding is done on the rearend and its back in the truck. I stuck the tubes (1.25" .095" wall 4130) on the rod ends just to see what it was going to look like. Also bolted the shocks on the lower mounts to get an idea for the upper shock mount fab and location. One problem that I see is that the upper tube of the torque arm is going to hit the crossmember that the gas tank hangs from. I haven't decided on what I'm going to do about this yet. It's probably going to be a good excuse to just put a fuel cell in the bed. We'll see. Here are some pics.

I was finally able to take the truck out for a drive. I really cant tell if its faster with the 4.56 gears because it refuses to ever hook up. Just rolling into the throttle at 50 mph smokes the tires. So I'll have to bolt the slicks on and get the torque arm finished up to see what the 4.56's really feel like. I also noticed when I got back from the drive that the rearend was hitting the bottom of the bed so I'm gonna have to cut that center rib out.

The rear shocks were sent back today cause one of them didn't feel the same as the other on the same setting. So I should be getting the new rear shocks early next week. Then comes the front end alignment, final adjustment of the pinion angle, torque arm install then 5-lug conversion and bogarts. Stay posted...

Looks great...Excellent Work...Can't wait to see those Bogarts??? Would that C-Notch work without the flip kit? I notice with my set-up, my frame hit's the stops before i can start transfering weight. Looks like the c-notch would help me with weight transfer or at the least give me some more travel.

 

Yea, you can install or do a C-notch on any truck with or without a flip kit. The C-notch has nothing to do with the suspension components. I know what you mean about hitting the stops. Right now with the stops that belltech sent me I have about 1.5" of suspension travel till it hits the stops. Thats another issue I might have to address.

As far as your question, yes a c-notch will give you more compression travel.
