Blown06-New Build: Cage, 4-Link, Cog Drive, + Too Much More

What does the dash weigh? Once I get a different daily driver I am going to pull mine and either gut it or put in a sheet metal dash. Wondering how much it weighs.
Also the cog drive you have to be very carefull with because there is no room for error. With a surp belt it will slip if you have a backfire or get off the throttle, with a cog it can't. You just have to be carefully because the motor won't make up for any mistakes.

I'm not overly worried about such issues. It's not like I have a manual trans and I'm pushing in the clutch at the end of a full throttle run or a shift. With an auto the motor comes down a lot smoother than with a clutch disengaging. Two BOV's and it should workout pretty good. That ATI super pulley is super $$$. We'll see if I have any problems first. Most cog horror stories that you hear about are the result from two problems, poor pulley alignment and flexing brackets. I have plans to fix both before they happen.

The cost of belts wouldn't be my concern. The cost of a SC or motor is what I would be concerned about. Again you shouldn't have any issues but you just have to remember there is no fail safe besides your self.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm really not sure what it is exactly your talking about.

If you have a backfire or if you any other issue the cog belt won't slip and the backfire will be compounded by boost into the motor. I have no first hand experiance but I have seen it talked about few times.
Do you have a clue on the weight of the dash?
