Blown06-New Build: Cage, 4-Link, Cog Drive, + Too Much More

A new phase of the truck build has started. As most of you now my procharger kit/8-rib conversion is for sale and is going to be replaced with a cog driven F-series Procharger and A2W intercooler.

Other upgrades will consist of safety upgrades such as cage, drive shaft loop, belts. Weight reduction will come from a manual rack and pinion, a/c delete, etc.

I'm also removing any unused wiring from the truck to help clean it up a bit.

I'm not building a race only truck. Streetability is still mandatory.

I dropped the truck off at Madman & Co. Racing (ls1tech sponsor) last Monday. They will be doing an 8.50 cert. 10-point cage, 4-link rear suspension, Kirkey seats, Flaming River manual rack and pinion, driveshaft loop, and a custom trans x-member.

Here are the pics from Madman so far.........

are the rear cage bars coming through the rear glass or through the back of the cab below the bed rails?

Thanks guys for all the comments. Several of you made the comment that it looks like a lot of work. Well.....thats the understatement of the year. I hope I have not bitten off more than I can chew at this point. Getting it out of the chassis shop is no problem. The problem is that all the money I was going to use to upgrade the FI is now in the hands of madman...lol! Still have to buy the blower, brackets, a2w intercooler, intercooler tank w/pump, injectors, injector driver box, parts to plumb everything, an exhaust system............................

I'm a little scared of the wiring, but I'm gonna take it slow and go one wire at a time. I'm also gonna try to reroute the engine harness as it is very ugly just laying over the intake. I'm gonna try to make it look real nice.

The bars will come out of the back window at the top and cross in an X as they go down through the bed. Per NHRA rules.

Speaking of that, anyone want a rear window with sliding glass. I'm gonna sell it when I get it back from the shop.

Did they give you an estimate on how much all the chassis work was going to cost? How much?
