I'll explain why this had to be done in another post.

No worries man. I'm gonna go over them with a flap wheel before I paint them.

Those look good. Amazing that shed a third of the weight. I do see a cut out there where the casting was thin I think... but I had pictured it full of speed holes, lol.

When I weighed them at home they were 21lbs.
When the machinist weighed them at his shop they were 21lbs.
When the machinist weighted them when they were done they were 14lbs.
When I weighed them at home when they were done they were 16lbs.

I'm thinking the weight loss might be closer to 5lbs. Either way, pretty amazing. There is still a bunch of material there that could be taken out though.

The reason that this was done, is that when madman prototyped this kit and had them made, for some reason a measurement was off and it stuck the wheel out about .600" when I trial fitted. Don't really care to go any further than that publicly.

While it is likely to be a pain in the *** for those that bought the kit as a bolt on kit, your either going to have to trim the face on the spindle and cut the caliper brackets as I did, or get a different backspace wheel.

It was a blessing in disguise for me, as I'm in the process of trying to get weight off the truck. Forcing me to cut on the spindle saved me another 10-14lbs where it matters most.

I haven't heard from madman since he went out of business so I'm not sure what he is up to. If you bought this brake kit and wanna talk about the cost to machine the spindles and what needs to be done to make it work, shoot me a pm.

Regardless, I wouldn't have it any other way. The brake kit is bad *** for what it is intended for.

Also, motor is done and coming home tomorrow. We were joking about it being the badest 4-bolt motor in the country.........someone said with a turbo on it.....then someone said yea because everyone with brains and money has moved on to 6-bolt stuff. I lol'd and then did a face palm head hang.
