Yes but from what I understand an engine on methanol runs much cooler then one on pump gas or race fuel. That is why I asked the question if it helps keep the engine cooler and you wouldn't need all the cooling modifications.

If you keep it fat enough on alcohol, you'll never get heat in the motor.

That is what I thought. But it would take two 100 lb. per hour injectors per cylinder at this hp? That is a lot of fuel.

Well stoich is something like 6.2 or 6.4 or something with methanol so it takes more than twice the amount of fuel to combust vs gasoline...

Back on topic. OP, when do you hope to have the engine back together? Will it be down for the winter?

I doubt 2 100lb inj. per cylinder would be enough. Probably run twin 235's or something like that.

I'm hoping that I can at least get one test session in before the end of the year. Engine guy wants to re dyno it on an engine dyno again, but this time with the blower on it. So that should be fun.

Just a heads up, I'm gonna be selling the following components as a package deal. I'll post a classified with pics later.

Moser converted 5-lug hubs and rotors
Belltech 2" drop springs with buckets
Single adjustable QA-1's
Calipers ground to fit a 15" bogart

Thinking I'm gonna ask $500 for it picked up.

Engine builder is moving along a lot faster than I was expecting. Good thing.

Pistons and heads should be going to polydyne by the end of the week!

Is the coating done for safety? Does it help with heat or what?

He claims to have seen some suppression of detonation issues in other engines he has built. Just about everything we are doing is to prevent detonation and to help contain combustion better.

Engine guy is moving right along. Heads are all set up for cooling and welded up. I think they are at greg goods for a final freshen. 1/2" head stud conversion is done on the block and the pistons are done.

Once the heads get back from greg's, everything will go to polydyne and then it should be as simple as a hone and throw back together.

I do hope I see some power improvements......Jesus busted off an 8.80 and other guy from the valley went like 8.79 I believe. Then Spike reset the record with his twin turbo entry at 8.05. Hoping I can land somewhere in the middle.
