You have had the blower for a few weeks and now are building a 408! That is awesome! Good luck and can't wait to see it come togather.

I think it should be a fun combo, not too destructive on parts since you arent forcing the volume a 2300 would.

curious to see the outcome.

Yea me too... If the compression is too much, a .5 reduction is only a pair of headgaskets away.

Oh and call Richard at WCCH already to answer your valve question. He doesn't bite!

Just got off the phone with Dave (I think?) at WCCH, who was extremely helpful in answering some questions.

-The largest valve he recommended was 2.02/1.57 for a basically stock 317 head. For Valves he likes FI, and REV, although they are all pretty much the same (in theory anyway).

- Definitely recommended the dual springs over beehives.

- Appearently the LS2 and LS7 lifters are the same nowadays. Its what ill be using in any event.

- Recommended the stock rockers with a truinion upgrade if you want.

Also got my cam suggestion from Pat G, looks to be in the 220 range with near 0.600" lift on a 117 which should bring the DCR down enough to run some decent timing with the high SCR and boost.
