Yessir! It needs an alignment too, will try to get that done tomorrow as well. Got my temporary registration for it yesterday, so with driveshafts and alignment it'll be ready for the road! For 10 days till the temp plate runs out anyway, lol. Gonna try to smog it next week.

Not too bad for a homo.
you will probably want the exhaust sticking out a little further too. I cut down the exhaust on my old 250 because it stuck out too far. well about a month of driving it turned the rear chrome bumper brown and the paint was a little darker too.

Chris, the wheels look good on the truck. I like the way it's turning out for you. Like Spoogin says, debadge that thing.
For the tailpipe, I like how mine is done. You'd need to get a mandrel bend and a polished stainless tip of your choice, and weld a little bit. Here's an old pic of mine(looks like **** right now, covered in winter grime & mud).

I'd take that clamp off and weld it there, get a 45* bend and a tip and make sure the tip is AT LEAST flush with the body, if not out 1/2" or so, itll completely jack the paint and bumper up...
So, is the drivetrain in this thing in and and operational? I havent read the whole thread. Truck looks really good.
for the exterior, I'd remove the Z71 stickers and add the little Z71 Tahoe badges (where the badges go behind the door on the B pillar) swap the chevy door moulding for some of the GMC trim and let it roll. I've become a fan of keeping the door trim in my old age. People dont respect ****. maybe a few painted parts along the way but honestly dude, it looks great sorta stockish, the grille and sound will definitely throw some people off

Thanks all! Pretty excited to drive it. Took it to the driveshaft shop this morning to let the guy measure it, they should be done this afternoon. Alignment tomorrow.
GFYS!
I'm going to look for a tip to put on that exhaust, and I'll spend some time soon trying to move it around to get it where I want it. It's far enough back that it won't affect the body but I think where it is right now it would probably get the rear bumper.
Started on it a couple days ago...I pulled the molding off the passenger side, then got bored peeling tape off and quit. If I get more motivated I'll see if I can finish it up tomorrow or Sunday.
Thanks for the pic. I like the swept look, just need to play around with it after I put a tip on there so I can keep it away from the bumper.
All that's missing to be able to drive it is the driveshafts, which should be done this afternoon. Alignment is off because it went from fully cranked to fully decranked, I'll get that done tomorrow. I have temporary 10 day tags on it, so as soon as those two things are done I'll be able to drive it.
For the exterior, I think I'm going to pull all of the badging except for MAYBE the 1500 badges. I was going to remove those too, but started thinking yesterday that it might be cool for the doors to say 1500 and Duramax.
The only other major thing to fix is the front bumper gap. I haven't really looked at it in depth to see what it's going to take. I'd bet that I can pull up some instructions for body lift kits though and see what they do though. Might even be possible to order body lift bumper brackets.
