Alaska Raceway Park is an IHRA track, so those rules apply. Basically, at 11.50 you'll need a cage, driveshaft loops, racing-fire jacket, C-clip eliminators(unless you have disc brakes), and some other junk.

Last summer, Matt (blue Lightning) ran too fast. Then He sarted slamming on the brakes before the finish line, and that didn't go over well. So he decided to just shut it down after the 1/8th. Once they noticed his 1/8th mile times, Earl had another chat with him about required safety equipment.

Last time I talked to him, he wasn't having fun anymore, and was going to take the truck home for some more mods. Not sure what he's planning, but I'm certain that it had nothing to do with slowing his truck down....

Geesh. wonder how they come up with that magic number that all of a sudden everything changes and you need all this extra safety gear.

I can understand liability and safety but why 11.50. what makes that the magic number
