Nice writeup. You had way more patience with those twist locks than I did.

holy cow... that's how you do it!!
so when i swapped mine in 2010, i read somewhere that the factory bulbs were soldered in, so i bought the stupid twist-locks from superbrightleds (the ones that are keyed incorrectly). you can only twist them in part-way & still keep a connection, so every now & then, i'll have one wiggle out & go dark. i'll have to try this out on my stockers now (thank God i still have them).

 

Or just buy twist locks and plug the LEDs into them.

Little more expensive due to buying the twist locks, but much easier due to no wire fiddling.
