Default 99-02 led bulb gauge cluster swap

Alrite ordered some t10 wedge led bulbs from ebay to put in my gauge cluster today. First off make sure you have a 12v power source to test each bulb before installing.

Now pull your cluster out and have good work space to start. Pull black back cover off just snaps off with the tabs. Second pull all the t10 bulbs bigger ones. Next get a pin to pull the small wires out a tpin works pretty good. THEY WILL NOT JUST PULL OUT.

Next you will have your empty twist bulb holder

There are two ways to do this ive tried both and both work. One you can push the metal connectors out half way and slide the wires from bulb in then push the connectors back in and wrap the wire around connector from botom side. Second you can just pull the wi res out to the sides to make connection with the metal on the inside.

Now that you have the bulb put in test and mark which side is + or - these bulbs will not work reverse polarity. When installing put negative side up towards connector on the cluster. Now test in vehicle to see if all works to be sure all is good

I've wanted to do a full LED swap for a long time, but they don't dim with the factory dimming ****. I'm not a fan of a bright dash at night. The red itself isn't too bright, but blue or white are.

I never had to pull any wires or anything on mine. My dimming switch works fine too.

The iPhone makes it look really bright, but it's more of a deep blue in person.
