Truck is 90% done as of now, all I need to do yet is install the grill, rear bumper, bolt the bed down and get the exhaust installed. I decided to go dual 3" the whole way, with dual 36" glasspacks and dual 3.5" tips coming out the back (remember, I want unsuspecting ppl to think its a sbc lol).

Well I haven't updated in a little while...

I have decide to go back to EFI, lol, for a number of reasons, first reason is, plans for this truck originally was just a toy but now im kinda needing it as a second daily driver, 3800 rpm @ 70 mph with a carb = very bad mpg!!! Second, I wanna spray a good shot of N2O and need a better transmission, third I wanna be able to tow at least light loads with it, fourth, this way my wife can figure out how to drive it too lol, and fifth, I run a local custom tuning buisness and am thinking my truck on my own custom tuning might help for buisness lol . As of right now I sold my intake and MSD box, and now have a 4L80e sittin in the shop lol. Plans are stock truck intake, 4L80e with 3000-3600 stall (still undecided about that one) and a BIG shot of giggle juice lol.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm currently swaping my 408/80e turbo in a 1990 I just picked up. Good luck with your project. Do you know what type of 10 bolt rear end are in these trucks? I'm not sure if I should invest in a trutrac or just buy a 12 bolt.

Mine has a 28 spline 8.5" 10 bolt, I talked to Ron @ Rons Machining Service and he said there's not much of a strength difference between these rear ends and the 99+ rears. I told him I wanted to run high tens and he said with my Tru-Trac it should hold it no problem.

Thanks for the info. I may just stick with my 10 bolt and stick a trutrac in there. Im assuming I have the 8.5 as well. Ill have to check to make sure.
