Default 5.3 setup :)

What's up guys? I ran my truck at the track the first time in the 8th after I put just about every bolt on possible and it was okay. But I'm ready for step 2. A cam. Lifters and springs. I would like to know on a good setup some people have had experience with or have the knowlege. I know nothing about lift numbers. And all that. Sorry haha I'm newerr to this. I'm a motorcycle and atv technician haha.. But if anyone has any good setups please help. And I hope this is the right place to put this. Sorry if it isn't I'll move it or whatever is needed thanks guys Oh btw I have a 5.3 scsb. 38k miles. Headers. Borla exhaust. Intake. 160 thermostat. Mad air flow sensor. 373 locker. And a mild transmission. No stall yet. Thanks guys.

yeah i know, jfwy. some popular cams that come to mind are the 212/218, tr220 and tsp 220, ls6 cam, etc. do some searches, read the stickies and old threads. imo any cam bigger than the 212/218 is gonnna need a converter, even stock cammed trucks can benefit from more stall. I dd a 224 cam, 3200 stall and 4.10 gears for what its worth and i think its a great setup. for a rcsb truck, look up bluecajuns old threads, guy went 12s with a "mild" tr220, stall, and slicks with supporting mods. hope that helps....

Thanks guys. With the cam will I need Lifters and springs. A stall 3200 stall by circle d sounds good. Tr220 a pretty sweet cam? What if if I put a stall could I do something a little more wild. Or would I need to mautofie my heads? Or anything else
