you will def need aftermarket springs and hardened pushrods for a cam swap. stock lifters are fine at your mileage, i dont plan on swapping mine until i swap heads. for a 3200 stall i wouldnt go past 220 duration imo and all the cams i listed will work fine with stock heads (although aftermarket ones will be sweet when i can save up the dough). the bigger the stall the bigger you can go on the cam but alot of other factors come into play, ie...ptv clearance, restrictions such as heads and intake manifold, rear end gearing, tuning, etc.

on my 5.3 im going much bigger then a tr220 or tsp 224....but i have a carb 5.3 and im think alongs a 228/230 custom cam with a 200 shot..and a 3600 or3800 stall and 3.90 gears, the reason forr the 390s is because im putting a th350 in it soon and the gears are werid but it should be a screamer..

I would do a 3400 stall what pushrods would I need and what's a good cam with a nice lope and makes good horsepower. And would work well with after market heads later on

when running the stock heads and lifters 7.4 pushrods willdo the trick. just get the hardened ones. I vote tsp 220 112lsa and a 3200-3400 stall

this will sound good and run awesome. a cutout makes the lope even more noticeable and some gears would make it run more awesome as well

I have a built rear end with 373s and a locker. I have a deep pan for the tranny and a huge trans cooler. How hard are cut outs. Because my Borla exhaust is quiet I hate it

A cutout is easy, have somebody cut a section of your exhaust off before the muffler and weld in the cutout. You can either make it open electronically or manually pull the caps off. I prefer electronic, and ran the wires into the cab tapping into my cigarette lighter. So now when i want it loud its there, and with the press of a switch it goes away.
