Default 408 NNBS Crew Cab Engine Build

Well thought I would post up to show my progress with my motor and my truck. I recently picked up a 408 short block from Casper02 with a brand new gm 6.0 block, arias -3cc pistons forged, total seal piston rings, Eagle forged h beam rods, Eagle 4.0 forged crank, Clevite h main bearings, clevite g rod bearings, fairly large cam, all ARP bolts and with only 800 miles on it. Iv cleaned it up a bit since i got it by putting a new rear cover, new 2010 oil pan, new valley cover, new front ls2 cover, ls7 cam gear and chain, ls2 chain dampner and ls2 lifter trays with brand new ls7 lifters. Basicly the engine is all brand new lol. Oh and a nice Chevy Orange paint job. Right now just waiting on a good set of 317s or l92s to top off the motor then it can go in. Dont really know what numbers to expect with this motor but should be pretty good. Im looking and swaping out the cam later on for a boost cam and running about 10lbs of boost on it to really make some power lol or just leave it the same and juice the hell out of it lol.

Like any other thread i feel pictures tell a better story oh and ill keep posting up my progress with it...

Heres a pic of the engine when it was at caspers shop...

And when I brought it home...

And some recent pics...

You just specified 2010 oil pan instead of just saying a new one, I thought there might have been something different about the newer ones.

oh yeah sorry bro read your post wrong i thought you said whats the difference in the new PLANS not PANS didnt know what you ment... yeah it had a older oil pan that had a sensor in it i guess its a oil level sensor??? idk but the newer body style trucks dont have this sensor so just replaced it with a newer style (09-10) oil pan.

Newer style pans have the drain plug coming out the driverside instead of out the back.

nah the drain plugs come out the passenger side and dont have that oil sensor you can see in the pics... i wonder why GM changed this I guess no more low oil sensor warning??? probably trying to make cuts here and there to save money. Noticed alot of 2010 trucks are missing alot of little things that the 09's and older have...
