Default 370 build on a budget

Long story short..We gonna build a 370 on a budget

build list..
243 HEADS cut .030 to achieve 10.5to1 compression
90MM TBSS INTAKE
ARP pro rod bolts
speed pro 4.030 pistons part#H1128CT75MM
speed pro rings part#E921K30
TSP 224R cam with PRC springs n pushrods
GM LS6 oil pump
LS2 timing chain
all gm gaskets n seals

The goal is 400hp at the tires and make a 12 sec pass!

I picked up a complete minus intake 02 LQ4 6.0 that was a high mileage core for $300. Got it home stripped it down to see what i had bought.
Upon disassembly i found 2 cylinders that had standing water in them.
Cleaned with a wire wheel to discover some pitting..
The block was then sent to WALL2WALL racing for machine work and assembly of the short block.
As you can see in the pics still in progress but this is where we stand!
224R cam is going in along with ls6 oil pump and then all covers n pan will be put on

Bottom end is complete..almost! ON TO THE TOPEND!

Sounds like a solid setup. I like that you always build everything mild, but it always performs well. Its a sane persons build. I ran a 3500 stall for a few months and it got old, so i can respect a mild sided build. Good luck man, and keep us posted.

I plan on spinning 6500rpm give or take 200 up or down.
Not scared to spin it 6800 if it makes power that high but it won't with the cam I chose.
Power should be there from bottom to top with no dead spots using the 224r..torque will be sick down low also!

Kelsey_canard Thanks man! I try to keep it simple as the truck is driven daily and tows frequently. I have always had better luck with mild setups and enjoyed them more.

I'm running a TR224 in a 10.8:1 6.0 and it has tons of torque. You're going to love it compared to the 5.3.

Update..370 is in and running has 20 miles on it. Had the heads cleaned up and flowed 25cfm better than stock. Very responsive and has a good lil chop to it. Still needs to be tuned but it runs. Will upload a sound clip and pic later
