So You kept the stock rods? I know the crank is good to 1000ish hp but what about the rods? I'm jealous of the 370 haha. I like your mind set on mild build. I was thinking of putting the tr224 in my 5.3L but decided to go with the cam in my sig. I love it great overall tq and top end with awesome fuel mileage.

Did you use ARP head studs and rod bolts?

Very cool. I'm also a fan of a fairly mild set up. I love the light chop of a healthy cam... but too much is just obnoxious in my opinion

It really seems that the sacrifices that are made in drivability for a large cam don't really show their worth at the track... I'm also not a big fan of a loose converter. Hence the shift to a maggie.

I used stock rods with arp rod bolts.
As far as the stregnth of stock rods people push them well past 550hp on turbo setups with stock bolts.
So i wouldnt think twice about them breaking or giving up even with some nitrous!
Stock gm tty head bolts and stock main bolts .
Didn't see the need in an over kill with arp bolts.

My setup vs a few others I have found there is about 40hp diff BUT they make the same torque as me. There setups have ported heads, more cam and 90mm intake setups with an open cut out.

I have a mild setup that works well that still can be perfected. With a cut out and more intake I bet I would see gains of 30hp

I have right at $3000 tied up in the build
1800$ of that was machine work to the block and heads

Heres the dyno graph

I bet you would see another 10-15hp with stock 17s and tires. What do they say, for every pound lost on the wheel is about a hp gained? something like that

Do you have a 4L80e?
