Update: git around to installing my air filter today, not dryflow like i wanted but for $22 for the spectre im not going to argue, also readjusted the maf housing and got everything a little straighter. Startedlooking at the air box opening and it doesnt look like it would make a difference opening it up, as the holes in the fender match the holes exactly and to open the front up would pull in hot air from radiator.... Not to mention thrres a plastic flap right there.... Cant see the time and effort to mod the box making a major difference without running sone sort ducting to give it a ram air effect....

Does it ever end??? I noticed the other night when it was cold especially on turns at slower speeds my front end was starting to squeal.. Thought at first it was my brakes, then i realized it didnt matter whether i had the brakes applied or not and also noticed every time i pulled away from a stop it was making noise..put it in 4wd and drove a straight stretch of rod and the same noise was amplified.... Guess when i finally get around to my dod delete ill drop the front end and put a set of bearings in it, just hope it hasnt torn up anything else in there

Ok so its official, my simple dod delete/ cam swap just officially became a l96 build and swap.......

Cam locator sheared in the actuator.... Has a bent intake valve on #7 that i know of at this point...

Gonna pull heads off one night next week and see how bad it really is....glad i hadnt really gotten too involved in buying 5.3 parts.... Lmao

So heres what i am thinking for the l96... Go through it check pistons, valves, bearings, etc. put an ls3 cam, comp 26918 springs, and a set of lifters in it, replace the chain tensioner with ls2 dampener, possibly set of 1 3/4 headers, trailblazer torque converter, vette servo and run with it.... Complaints, criticisms, suggestions???
