I highly recommend putting a vband clamp on that manifold instead of the factory stupid triangle thing. Well worth cutting that off and a vband welded on.

That seems like a lot of work I don't have the ability to do plus I would have to cut up tricks crossover... Any reasoning for that? It has a v band on the downpipe, but nowhere else in the system

Yes, but any decent welder can do it. Not mandatory obviously but you will soon hate that factory flange as it's hard to get it not to leak since there is no longer a groove for that ring to sit in.

interesting, I didn't inspect the crossover that well, I basically unboxed everything to check it but didn't look to see if it had a groove for the ring. He provides brand new rings which I just assumed meant they fit fine

It can be made to fit fine, it's just a pain if you ever have to remove the pipes and sucks to get sealed correctly.

The big blue one should fit in the harness hole, I'll find out when I drop the pan and remove the harness

Now I just have to find to time to clean it up and paint it. Any tips? Will a wire wheel work or do I need brass wire wheels (if they even make those) so it doesn't gouge the aluminum?

Finished the HD2 install this morning, went with recommendedations from Jake and drilled 1-2 to 0.125", no drill on 2-3, but removed checkball, and drilled 3-4 to 0.125". Reason I went that aggressive is because I will have a higher than stock stall. I like firm shifts, but hopefully it's not too harsh for a DD

Did everything the kit asked for except the inside parts since I'm not opening up the transmission

How much trouble was it to change convert the steering wheel to one that has the steering wheel controls? I want to do the same thing to my truck. Nice looking truck.

Not too hard if you know the requirements. You need a clockspring from a vehicle with steering controls, you need the DIC programmed, and you need the steering wheel of course. I took the easy way out and when I had my cluster rebuilt to an escalade, I told them to activate the DIC. The radio controls wouldn't work without programming from the dealer I believe. I was using aftermarket controller for my alpine radio, so I knew it would work without the dealer. I went to eBay for the clockspring since I wasn't sure if one from a junkyard would be good or not. That cost like $120 or some crap
