Yeah, I just picked it up from the border a week or so ago! Thanks!
Thanks!
Unfortunelty I had a little miss hap. Some may have heard of this before, I re used the o ring on the oil pick up tube that was in the engine. Which apparently there is an updated one. I had the truck tuned up to 12psi and it was working GREAT. Didn't get it on the dyno, but HP Tuners was claiming 570ft. Lbs. @ 4300rpm
I was making a high gear pull on the highway and about 5800rpm the check oil pressure light came on. I looked down and it was at zero. I shut it down and pulled over. Started it back up and it had low oil pressure. I limped it back to the shop and yanked the pan. Rod bearings were good, so I pulled the main thrust and she's grooved up. So that's a bummer, just when it was getting good and rowdy this happens.
I sent my Lq4 block to the machine shop. Stay tuned, 408ci in next on the list.

Its mishaps like that, that make me wonder why people still swap in ARP rod bolts. I have yet to see any stock rod bolt failures and these motors are being pushed harder than ever.
Anyway, good luck with the new build. Should be a beast!

I am looking forward to how the new 408 turns out. It is more up my alley, the last stockish engine I built was my 340 which was in my dodge aspen when I was 17.

I've slowed the project down as of late, since I quit my career as a 3D CAD Designer, and I am trying my hand at new vehicle sales! Huge change for me, and I am going to take a bit getting in the swing of things here, but before I did that, I picked up a set of lightly used PRC 2.5 64cc chamber heads. They don't post the intake volume on the Texas-Speed website, so I was bored the other day and sat them beside one of our customers 235cc Trick Flows. The ports measured out wider on the PRC's. Trick flows were 1.06" and the PRC's were 1.125" which I found interesting. So I CC'd the PRC and it has an intake port volume of 245cc.
Trick Flow 235cc on the left, PRC on the right

PRC intake port

CC'ing the PRC

The chamber of the Trick Flow is nicer of course, and maybe they flow more on a bench, but for the price, its hard to go wrong with the PRC from the looks of it!
