Default 2001 Old Man Tan 80mm Turbo RCSB Build

Hey Everyone, I have been a member for a while now, but haven't made a build thread yet. Mainly because, I just started my first build that suits this site! My main tow until now has been my car, a 1976 Dodge Aspen, with a 468ci. W2 small block running on all motor and pump gas. So far it has gone 10.44@129mph. But, I wanted to start messing around with my daily driver. So a month or so ago, I picked up this low mile, 2001 RCSB. I bought it with out wheels, and went and slammed my old 20's on it from my ECSB, and drove it home. It is a fully loaded 5.3 2wd truck with 145 000km (91 000 miles approximately) on the clock, and was owned by an old guy, and drives like new. I bought a Trick Performance stage 5 80mm turbo kit off of "REDCYCLE13" on here a couple weeks ago, Which will be going on this truck. Currently, we are in the process of putting a belltech 5" drop in the front, 3" coils, with a 2" spindle, and DJM shocks. I decided to not use a flip kit, because the truck is getting a turbo 400 with a trans brake, and the flip kits look a little sketchy to be whacking them with a trans brake and a sticky tire atthe track. SO, we are welding perches on the diff, and running it on top of the leaf spring, just like a typical leaf spring car. I will be using a set of Slide A Link's to help control the back end.

I plan to ditch the g80 and 3.73 gears, and go to a 3.25 gear and a full spool with c-clip eliminators, and a cap girdle. I have had thoughts of building another dana 60 like the one in my car, since i have a spare housing, but this is the plan for now. Well, on to a few pictures!

I bought the truck off "Duece" on here, this was the picture in the ad....

front bolted up, still needs to settle, and there is jack stands in the middle of the truck. im guessing it will settle another 2"

I will be ditching the roll pan, in favor of a stock bumper as well.

I am hoping to see the TSI TH400 soon here, once that is here, We will fit it into the truck, and start the tuning and slap the turbo kit on it. The truck currently has a 02-04 LS6 cam and springs in it as well. I will be doing push rods, and rod bolts for now. I do have a 408 LS3 deal SLOWLY coming together at the shop that might end up in here down the road.

Thanks for looking!

Wait wait wait. You plan to run a full spool in your daily driver?

Yessir! I run one in my street car too which is a no no. I'm used to them, and IMO absolutely nothing wrong with running a spool on the street. Along with a trans brake TH400. must be a crazy Canadian eh?

Trans brake is no big deal but I don't see the reason a spool is needed. There is literally no advantage in your case.

Cheaper, and in my experience, safer (yeah yeah yeah, I'm sure some will disagree) lockers like to change lanes when they want to. LOL. Same reason I will not run one in my car. I like to point and shoot, and end up where I aimed. haha.

HAHA, Fair enough!

Im hoping to get it together as soon as possible, it is my daily driver, so, When it's down I have to steal my old ECSB that is in the picture of my sig from my parents, since I sold it to them LOL. So once the 5/7 lowering kit is complete this week, I will leave it alone until I have the TH400 in my hands, and converter. Then We will take a weekend and put it all in. Im HOPING to have it done for the end of august, but we will see how things go.
