Good to see you have got quite some miles on your new bushing idea.

Is it holding up well enough to you? It does look compressed quite a bit, to me, but dont know.

did the ride change any?

Im still loving my setup on my 05 tahoe, much better than tbars, but still needs some fine tuning. Right now ground to fender im at 31.5" on a 285/50/20. Been wanting to go to the stud mount, as i think i need more shock travel.

Did not see it, probly missed it, but what shock are you running? ds301?

I don't consider it a success. I consider it a mistake. That's why I told everyone not to go with a stud mount.

Is it functioning? Yes, but I cannot see this as a real solution. There is simply too much weight on that one point. Eventually this will end in bushing failure.

I'm stuck because if I convert to the Procomp style mount, it'll add 1 1/2". I don't have enough adjustment in my coilover setup to to maintains my current ride height.

Eventually, I'll most likely bite the bullet and order the Procomp setup. Or, weld something similar into the upper mount. I'll lower the coilover as far as I can and adjust the rear height to match with the airbags if need be.

The only way I can see to extend bushing life would be to capture the bushings. Even then, they will eventually fail.

awesome work man. I just bought a 2000 ecsb silverado that is lowered 5-7. I rub the hell out of my wells and just a bit on the fender with the 22" wheels on it now. Been thinking about trading them for a set of 20s or 18s. But again man awesome work. I appreciate all the detail and hope to follow suite for a ref for others and myself when I get my truck in shape.

 

Hey man I had some washers made to eliminate the need for that bushing using the stud mount. You already have some that will probably work, so you wont need mine. I dont really think that bushing is needed. Give it a shot without it and see how you like it.

 

Can you post up a picture? I think there probably needs to be a bushing of some sort. It is a pivot point.

It would be nice if I had a gopro so I could film what's happening through the suspension movement. I wonder how many degrees that stud moves throughout full travel.

 

I have a slow leak so I removed my front tire.

A couple thousand miles and a few months later, everything seems fine.
