Bassically What we have done is take a 2000 chevy light duty 3/4 ton 9.5 14 bolt SF rear end and install 6 lug axles from a 89-98 K1500 Truck.

Why? Because there are 2 diffrent axle bearings. The 06ss style 14 bolt Uses a 1.622 od axle shaft and the OBS 3/4 use a 1.703 shaft if you see the bearings side by side its easy to see why we went this route... Its Should hold the extra power and I have not yet found 1 OBS axle that broke on its own un like the newer style that uses the smaller shaft and bearing. You can get forged axles for the smaller bearing but why spend the extra money...

Should be noted that this setup is about 1 inch shorter overall when compared to the factory nbs 10 bolt.

I have not personally checked, but do believe any NBS 2500LD or 1500HD axle housing will work for this type of swap.

Looks awesome Pat!! Can't wait to see the results at the track!! No more clink clink bang at the 60 foot mark!!

Joseph, great work. Might hit you up one day this year for mine. I know you have more than a few 14 bolts laying around!!!

Now about that POS in the backround of this picture...looks familiar, almost like there's some lazy homo that I know that just doesn't want to finish his project...who could it be?

Chase, If you decide to go this route later on with a 14 bolt hit me up.

I saw you were inquiring about a 9.25 swap up front and a possible gear ratio swap. I cant wait to see how that turns out.
