Thanks, bowtie. Well I did a lot of thinking and choose the 3.73 because I do a good amount of highway driving on my commute to and from work. Right now I've got the 3.23, from what I've read the 3.73 it's still pretty fun. If I didn't have all the highway driving or it wasn't my daily I'd for sure go with 4.10. I'm also planning on a stall converter, somewhere in the 2,800 range. As far as tires, currently mine are about 30.5" but I may go to a 29-29.5" tire depending on availability. I'm going to keep the power adders somewhat simple, stage 2 cam and possibly the FAST or MSD intake manifold.

I appreciate all the advice guys and look forward to learning more about the Chevy drivetrain. Any good suggestions and constructive criticism are welcomed.

A friend of mine has 4.10s in an extended cab 4.8 and you don't even notice them anymore. Makes the truck more fun to drive for sure. I got factory 3.73s and they're ok. I'd go 4.10s for your truck. And skip those manifolds and find a tbss or nnbs intake, less expensive and good power gains.

I hear you on the highway driving but something to consider......

4.10 gears will only increase your rpm ~200 over 3.73 gears. So the change is not as drastic as you may think. In any case, each has to make their own decision. I have been planning to go lower with my truck for a while, maybe even 4.56+ but it is not a daily driver anymore.

Either way you will be better off than the 3.23 gears. And hey, if you ever decide to go turbo in the future they love 3.73 gears

That was kind of my idea, I've had my eyes on the On3 turbo kit or a D1 Pro Charger. However, the cost of the build plus 4L80 swap just isn't ideal for my daily driver.

Well unfortunately the shop that was supposed to install my gears this morning had to postpone because they are racing in Fontana this weekend. So, I'm going to get the front windows tinted to match the factory tint on the rear windows later today.

Any suggestions on what stall and cam combination will be good for this DD? Right now i'm looking at the BTR Truck cam kit, Stage 2 or 3. All good advice is appreciated.

I'm leaning towards a 2600-2800 stall and BTR Stage 3 cam.

Gears and diff are in. Initial impression is good, I can definitely tell it picks up quicker. I'm sitting at the dyno shop right now waiting for my turn to have the computer adjusted. I can't wait to see how much of a difference it will be when I go to a smaller tire size
