Default Spraying while saving trans

Hey guys just picked up an 02 rcsb with a 5.3 and have some questions. I have a bottle layin around and was considering throwin it on the truck. Now my question is do any of you guys spray off of a window switch and set the upper limit to cut off before the trans shifts? I've broken my fair share of transmissions and know that both a heavy torque load or a bang shift will take out a sprag or roller in short order. Will I run into any problems when the solenoids engage after the shift?

How big of a shot are you wanting to spray?

some guys will use a window to help limp their transmission a few extra miles without any issues. i prefer to just spray through the shift.

I would be starting with a 100 shot. The truck as of now only has an airaid intake, short tube headers, and electric cooling fans all installed by previous owner (kinda I had to rewire the fans as shoving wires under fuses isnt an appropriate way to wire something). I welded up a 2.5" x pipe which exits out the side to 3 inch tips. Supposedly the trans has been replaced and I believe a reprogramming kit was added (shifts firm but not harsh in first). Has anybody ran a kit this way? I had a th350 in my lq4 mustang and snapped a hardened sprag race in that so if I could dumb down the power on the shifts on this 4l60e I believe it would last longer. Losing a couple of tenths would be worth it imo.

Please dont take offense but thats kinda why im askin if this may help keep a trans that will rarely have a shot run through it from having to be built.

Oh ok, idk i wouldnt think it would last long at all, but a progressive will prolly be your best bet.
