There are a couple of ways that it is commonly done.

1st being just pulling the timing out using a tuning program like HP tuners or EFI live. Down side to this is either you have to drive eh truck with the extra timing pulled which you may loose some horsepower, or you have to change the tine back and forth from when you are running nitrous and when you are not.

2nd is doing a controller such as the MSD timing twister or the Lingenfelter LNC2000. Both of these units hook up in line of your coil pack harnesses and delay timing whenever the nitrous is armed. Then when you kill the power to nitrous system it goes back to normal timing.

3rd is to trick the IAT sensor in to thinking the temperature is a lot hotter/colder than it actually is only when the nitrous is armed, and then going into a tuning program and using those cells to pull the correct amount of timing. There is a tone of info on here and LS1 Tech about how to do this.

That is defiantly the most popular way to do it.

Trey do you think my lq9 would be ok on my 91 octane tune if I ran a 100shot and for safety ran some Sunoco 110 at the track? I only plan on using the nitrous at the track and I can throw the race gas in there for the time being until I get a better solution?

YOu think thats as far as I should push it? I mean Im not afraid to throw the 125 or even 150 jets in there if i get close to 11.9 LOL On race fuel It should keep knock to a minimum i would think and its been really cool out (40-60)degrees

Thanks for your time NX

The higher the octane the more you can spray without pulling timing. If you are going to run 110 then that will be plenty of cushion to run 150hp. You may even be able to cut it a little with 91 octane to reduce fuel cost.
