New to the truck forum but not to the LS1tech boards. I have a 98 Ford F150 Off-road with the 5.4l V8. All I have done to it is eldelbrock shorty headers, cold air intake and a flowmaster exhaust. It is my DD and my work truck. I already started to browse through the threads and get more info on my truck.

The shorties were not much more or a power increase, but make it sound a little better. If I could do it over I would go for the LT's and get rid of the flowmaster. Shorties on any car/truck don't really increase the power that much. I would tell your buddy to go to longtubes. They sound better and there is a lot of potential for power increase. I might change out if I end up keeping it!
