Hello, signed up to learn what I can about rebuilding my 2009 Sierra 1500, 5.3L iron block. Curious as to why GMC is not listed in the 'My Vehicle" profile selections?

Truck has a 7" lift, 35" tires, 4L60E trans and 3.73 gears. Looking at regearing the differentials to 4.88 and installing a cam, exhaust etc..........considering a 6.0 junkyard block to swap in also but not sure. Daily Driver, 62 years old, retired, keeping this truck till I croak. Has new bedsides and a recent paint job, killer stereo, leather interior in a WT work truck. May regear and slap a cam in for now but at 260K not sure if its worth it before a rebuild. Truck runs strong, uses a little oil but has a leak around the pan. AFM is tuned out for now but will do a dod delete also once I get inside.

Shadetree mechanic here, we shall see if I can get this done?

Re-gear for sure, will make the truck so much better to drive. It will be a night and day difference is performance and feel.

I think 4.88's is a bit much for 35's though, I know it has a 4 speed auto but 4.56's would do the job just fine.
