New Ford Raptor at the track
#42
I am no respecter of any one brand over another. I have my preferences based on needs or wants, but that is really it.
I don't care for how the new ford or gm trucks look, with exception of the raptor, and I don't really care for the dodge's drivetrain's. Not like I have the money anyway, but I wouldn't buy a new truck if I did.
As much as I want to dislike the raptor because I prefer GMC's, I simply can't. There is a lot there. Hopefully GM wake's up and starts listening to its market.
When manufactures quit their "branding", and the EPA allows some diesels in half tons, I will get excited about new trucks. By branding, I am referring to the over dramatic grilles, and emblems that a blind man can see.
I will say I saw a gun metal grey GMC Acadia Denali the other night. Appeared bone stock and quite simply an amazing looking little whatever it is (crossover). No V8 available in it though.
edit:
after looking at some pics, the acadia we saw must have been lowered with different exhaust tips. The one we saw was pretty Darth Vader looking as my wife put it.

Sorry, these trucks may be nice, but are pretty fkn stupid. A very limited bunch of people would want a performance truck that is built for running offroad.
If 1000 people want this truck, then 10,000 people want a peformance street truck.

Think again, theyre flying off dealer lots even with an MSRP creeping up on the 50K mark. Theyre just like the king ranch and harley trucks. People want them to show off, 99.9% of them will never even see mud Im sure.

How do the sales compare to any year of the 2nd gen lightnings? I've seen 3 that I can remember around Houston. And they are few and far between sightings. I'd love to race one, in either of my trucks. Then after I **** them up, they can tell me to race them off road...lol.
$50k, seriously? Damn people are fkn dumb.

Okay, so if this is what the Raptor is so "good at", then I'm still not impressed.....
