Some of those stops use the upper arm to stop droop. Doing that doesn't really controlthe fron end when you think about it. Holding the lower arm up keeps everything compressed. Where as holding the upper arm makes the ball joints and spindle hold up the lower arm. I was impressed with the way my tahoe performed all around even handle better with the straps.
