Your truck pulls great for 7#'s dont worry bout it.The track shows X number in the 1/8 it's not the end all to the story...

very nice run, leaving under boost fries all four and Steer is hard to handle, 7++ to the wheels is going to be hard.

fun though!

congrats!

Youve got a very fun setup and IMO regardless of the track numbers the feel out on the street is what matters. You dont have a dyno queen or trap speed king but as youve said its fun as hell on the street. I think once you get the front end lined out you will really start to enjoy the 4hi launches.

Back in the day I was running a 418 stroker with 11.2:1 237/242 cam and a 4-4200ish converter, in 4hi it was a blast and danced all over the place like youre describing. Its really fun when you get on a slick asphalt where the tires dont get good enough traction to make it dance then the truck just does a 4wd drift. That to me was always fun, just dont do it with other cars around

I let my good friend drive the other day and it was hilarious watching him try to drive. He normally drives a 96 suburban so I know he can handle a big truck. He wasnt ready for the throttle response and had a hard time not spinning from a take off. The **** eating grin said it all haha.

I just finished with a 160 mile trip and got exactly the same mileage as I did with my 5.3 with the 3" pulley, in town though...about 2mpg less.

Last time I went to the track I strap down my front end with ratchet straps. What a difference it was. On the street headed toward the track there was no more fighting the wheel hoping to not hit a car from a stop light. And at the track it launched so much striaghter is was amazing. Im not lifted at all though. In fact I have a good rake on mine. But with out the straps it will bounce the right front wheel about an inch in the air. It makes for an interesting launch but horible 60'.

What two points did you ratchet from? Lower and upper shock mount or what?

There is a hole in the frame just above and behind the upper arm. Put one hook in the hole and rap the strap around the lower arm on the outside of the A middle piece. As in look at an "A" it would be the upper right portion. That way the strap slide up against the corner it makes. Then hook the other hook in the same hole. Then ratchet down until it draws the truck down just a touch or so. Because it going to stretch just a bit. You could play guitar on mine.

Sureshot had the full cognito set-up on his lifted dmax he sold.It had their tie rods, braces and idler arm set-up with support.Boosted launches it went perfectly straight. It had a 6" lift and ran 325/65 R18 tires.
LiftedLQ9 had the Cognito idler and pitman supports and the Cognito heavy duty tie rod steering kit and the front end had droop stops and it still wouldnt leave straight. On ~13lbs it was ok but when it was turned up it would go nuts as soon as the boost came on which was probably 30 feet out.

1989K1500- I'm only speaking from my experiences man. Also like you said LiftedLQ9 still had issues.I've read about some diesels with all the mods I've listed still dropping the tb's at the track.
