Engine block machined out of solid block
#21
wayyy off topic but how do you like the okuma? we have one at our shop forget the exact model but 630mm pallet 4 axis horizontal 6 pallet changer. bigggg machine. speakin of big we just got in last week a mitsui seiki HU80. 800mm pallets. its the size of my living room inside haha
The one we have, mu-400va, is a great little machine. It's really rigid and pretty quick too. It's a five axis and we use a uniball pneumatic holder to hold our fixtures. The controls aren't too difficult, but the interface can be a little finicky like Mazatrol or Fanuc, in that you can't just start from any line of code like on a Haas. But other than that, it's easy to navigate, looks a lot like a Fanuc controller, and it's touch screen too. Which is really nice actually. We're getting another, bigger one soon to make three multi-axis Okuma mills and we're also getting big Toshiba, probably by the weekend hopefully. That'll make 75 machines in total!
