just a quick guess but a block of billet that big would probably run right around 4k$ hard to guess dimensions too though, the last time the shop I work at ordered billet stock (for blower mounting plates on the plenum) it cost 2500$ for 20 pieces that were .750x8x21.5" and that was shop price, about 8 months ago

ive said the same thing. now i do it for a living and dont want to do my own ****. haha. it is amazing what you can do with them though.

as far as the cost of the chunk of material its going to vary greatly depending on which grade of aluminum it is. costs usually go by the pound on things like that. last large chunck i remember was about 10x10x18 and 6061 was roughly 300 bucks 7075 was over 700. something like that we make first piece out of a cheaper grade because its a good chance it will get scraped for a first piece on a new program

but god damn i couldnt imagine how much that thing is going to move with all that stress relieved.
