yeah this little truck moves down the road pretty good. i actually raced a 3rd gen z28 the other day and beat it. not really to amazing but still pretty good for a 6. right now i dont have any immediate plans for the motor. im waiting for the trans that is in it to go. i figure with 140k on it itll be headed out the door here in a couple years. especially with the way i drive it. once that happens i plan on goin to a t-56 along with opening up the heads, gettin a marine intake, goin 30 over on the block and maybe tryin to get the compression up just alittle bit. somewhere around 9:1. and most likely a rear mount turbo. but id like to drive it as is for alittle bit.

If I were you, I would just do the 2114 conversion. Thats what I would do if I had the chance to do it again.

Compared to the marine intake? Does it flow better?

It is more of a direct swap than the 2114, but the 2114, IMO, looks way better, is aluminum VS cast iron lower/aluminum upper. The cast iron stays really hot, my engine bay was always hotter and it heat soaked the engine bay more. The marine intake seriously weighs about 60 pounds also.

Unless you need EGR and what not (which youll need tuning for either intake, so it could be turned off) the 2114 will be more expensive in the long run, but thats the route I would go.

yeah thats what im wondering. that 2114 swap sounds really overly complicated when the marine intake seems pretty straight forward

ahh aluminum... got it. yeah that would help out alot. i may have to look into that. now you kinda threw me off with the egr. my truck has no egr. wich i asume means i dont need to do anything with that....

never mind just re read it again. got it.

I see yours is an 02', no need to worry about EGR. Once you wrap your head around what you need, going with the 2114 isnt TOOOO much more difficult. Either way, youve gotta cut up your injector wiring harness.

Ok I might sound like a dummy but the 2114 will need to be machined for the injectors correct? I was set on doing the marine swap when I make the change to boost. But it makes sense about the cast iron heat soaking. I'll want to be able to keep the incoming air as cool as possible.
