He listed a "brand new" detroit true trac, i got the partnumber and looked it up to confirm it will work in my truck, cool it will....so i purchace it

i recieve it right before christmas....well after christmas i ordered gears and install kit, so after i get all my parts together i go to install everything and the carrier bearing do not fit....ok i look up new ones from eatons site....still dont fit.....i call eaton tech after posting my problem on 3 diff forums and all pointing to wrong tru trac, Eaton tech told me someone has machined the tru trac to fit a stock carrier bearing from a pre 98 10 bolt, rendering it useless to me........i contact him about a refund because it is clearly not NEW as he stated and he refuses to refund me because it has been 2 months and he said he was laid off work, and that he dont belive it has been modified.

he tells me just to sell it myself.


i also tried to file a dispute with paypal but i says im not elligible

I spoke to Eaton tech this morning and explained the measurments and he said that the true trac has been modified to fit pre 98 10 bolt STOCK carrier bearings....he said it has 100% sure someone has altered it. I have no use for this as my truck is a 01 and there is no possible way for me to use this.....can u just refund me and i will send the unit back to you with the ac delco bearings that fit and now you know exactly what it fits to resell it.

Hi well i cant refund you 2 months later if it was 2 weeks then no prob, first off i was laid off 2 weeks ago happy new year to me and just dont have a extra $400 laying around, i had no idea it was moded which i just cant see or believe it is,
just sell it yourself i cant refund

Look i have been patient and trying to get this cleared up, it is the right thing for you to refund me and i will send it back to you. If you make this right then all negative feedback from me will be erased.

If you do not plan on refunding me i can still contact my bank and stop charge on this....paypal suggested i do this now but i want to make it right first with you.

No i did not get what i paid for....i paid for a NEW tru trac whereas i got a fucked up modified useless piece

it seams with all the parts you are selling you need your rep to be good, how can something simple like this bring it all down?

so this is what im left with......i sure hope i discourage everyone to not buy anything from this guy or stop payment before its too late.

I tried to make things right but obviously he does not want to do that.....so tommorow i will be contacting my bank and see what i can do.
If i cant do anything then i will just have to resell this item for a loss and purchace one from a RESPECTABLE source.

Honestly I can see where he is coming from if he really didn't know it was modified. I know I wouldn't wanna refund $400 with no job, 2 months after I already spent the money. You're going to have to work with him on it, it sucks but that is the way the classifieds go sometimes.

I tried working with him, i said id cover shipping back to him and he knows what it really fits now so he can resale it.

 

But the whole point is he doesn't have the $400 to refund to you. I'm sure he'd rather get bad trader feedback and keep his house, truck, family, etc.

This is all dependent on if he really lost his job and is being truthful with you, which I hope he is.

But if he really didn't know, and he doesn't have the funds because he got laid off, how is he supposed to refund you the money? I don't see how that can be bad karma on his part, **** happens.

This would be totally different if he had the means to refund your money and make things right and just refused not to. I'm not defending him, but if it came down to my personal life and well being of my family, against someone on here being out some money for a part, I know what I'd choose.

If he did know that part was no as advertised, than I take back everything I've said, and he deserves whatever hes got coming.

 

like i said i dont know if he knew about it....but he sent bearings that fit the modified sides, inside the trutrac box that was supposed to be BRAND NEW , instead of ones that eaton said to use with it ......im not saying for him to sell his house to give me my money, but i think he knew it was modified and sold it anyway........i dont know....its over now, im tired of dealing with it now all its doing is pissing me off more


just dont buy **** from him
