Default brake pad recommendations, and hello

Hello all,

I'm Eric Armstrong, and I live in Gig Harbor, WA (near Tacoma). I've got a 99 L, #163, with almost 134K on it. It's essentially stock, as it was my work rig for my (since sold) home inspection company. Plan on keeping it forever, and making it into a toy as I can afford it.

The rear pads are getting thin, and I've got a little pulsing in the pedal, indicating some warpage, so it's time for new brakes.

Does anyone make a better pad than OEM, and if so, where do I get them? Hell, where's the best (ie. cheapest place with decent service) place to get parts for the L?

Thanks in advance
G'dood

Here is a good place to get performance pads.

RPMOutlet is a good cheap place and they have decent customer service. I've bought from them before and had no problems.

Welcome to the boards.

Performance Friction makes a Z-compound pad that you can get at Autozone. They're decent, quiet street pads. Not really up to track duty or anything.

I could literally crumble them to pieces with my thumbs after some hard laps in my old '00.

I run various Hawk compounds now for stock calipers, Wilwood blends on big brakes.
