Default What is this??

pulled the rear cover off my block so i can take it to the machine shop tonight and found this little doohicky..what is it and do i need to take it out??
i can feel it wigglin around when i move it..

i pulled it out to take the block to the machine shop. and put it back in when i got the block back. it is like 2" long and has an o ring on the end of it. i used a pick to get it out.

That's the barbell that's supposed to be the block to allow the oil to flow from one lifter galley to the other. Without it you would lose all oil pressure to the upper end of your motor.

i figured it had something to do with the oil galleries..but its out and the block is on its way to the machine shop as i type this..

but did i miss something? did you blow the motor up, or just decide to move on to better things?

lost #7 or 8 i think!! did a compression test and it was way down. Was way down on power on dyno so he checked that
